Javed (age 30) was born into slavery. His parents were bonded labourers in a brick kiln, and their crushing debt was passed down to Javed and his siblings. For 30 years, he has known no life outside the suffocating boundaries of the kiln.

He married Yasmin, who, like him, was born into slavery in another brick kiln. Yasmin has only one arm and has spent her entire life making bricks, first as a single girl and now as a mother. Despite her disability, she works 10–12 hours daily, enduring the unbearable heat of summer and the bitter cold of winter.

Together, they have three beautiful children—two sons and one daughter, aged 10, 8, and 5. These innocent children have never been to school. Instead of learning and playing, they labour alongside their parents to survive. Their lives revolve around hunger, hard labour, and hopelessness.
