Help us heal the wounds of trauma for survivors of ISIS sex slavery.

When ISIS took control of large areas of the Middle East, 7000 women were captured as sex slaves. Over a third of these women are still missing.
Alal’s life changed forever when ISIS arrived in her town, abducting her and forcing her into sexual slavery. She was taken to Mosul with a large number of other women, where she was repeatedly beaten and raped, being sold from one ISIS soldier to another over a period of four years.

Eventually, the coalition forces arrived and rescued Alal, but her troubles weren’t over. In her new home in the refugee camp, relief gave way to shock, confusion and despair. The trauma of her abuse kept coming back in memories and dreams. Alal blamed herself for what had happened and, one night, desperately seeking an escape, she tried to take her own life.

Thankfully, this is where God intervened. Alal’s suicide attempt was unsuccessful, and she want on to meet Zara, an Arab lady from a local church. Zara was able to tell Alal all about the love of her heavenly Father through a powerful course of biblical trauma counselling.

Now, Alal is walking with the Lord and testifies that she is loved by the Father who heals the broken-hearted and sets the captives free!

Countless women like Alal remain trapped, mentally re-living their trauma day after day, but can step into their situations today to bring hope and healing where it is sorely needed.

£50 will provide eight hours of trauma counselling for a victim of trauma and abuse, whilst £100 will fund six weeks of dedicated medical care for a traumatised woman at risk of suicide, but gifts of any amount are gratefully received towards this crucial work.
